We had a successful 2025, raising nearly £27,000. Thank you to the Balls to Parkinson’s Team and their wonderful sponsors and supporters. To give you a flavour of what we’ve been up to, we’ve included some highlights of our past events below.

London to Brighton Bike Ride 2025

14th September 2025

We entered a team of 20 riders in the London to Brighton Cycle Ride last year. Starting in London on Clapham Common, the team headed south towards Redhill, then on over the South Downs via the ‘infamous’ Ditchling Beacon, before enjoying a final downhill run to the finish line on Brighton esplanade. We set off together from the start, and the first of our team to arrived in Brighton around 3pm. We celebrated the end of the ride and the tremendous effort the team put into fundraising all summer, in aid of Parkinson’s UK and The Oddballs Foundation, at The Balls to Parkinson’s Big Brighton Beach Ball which was held at Dalton’s near to the finish.

Big Beach Ball

Our last event of the summer and saw us out with a bang, and helped us surpass our £10,000 fundraising target thanks to our generous supporters.

To celebrate we held the Balls to Parkinson’s Big Brighton Beach Ball at iconic music venue Dalton’s on Brighton seafront.

During the course of the evening Daltons did a roaring trade at the bar refuelling the audience, as they participated in the B2P pub quiz, charity auction and raffle.

Music was supplied by some great local bands including Hutch, Ideal Living, special guests and more.

Turvey Village Hall Bash

24th August 2025

Last Event: Turvey Village Hall Bash

We raised over £1600 for our fundraising campaign at this event thanks to the lovely people, family, friends and supporters living in and around Turvey Village near Bedford.

It was a massively entertaining day with something for everyone. Starting off the afternoon, Andrew Richardson warmed the crowd up with a great acoustic set.

Next up Janet Butterworth and Elizabeth Paige serenaded us with some beautiful vocals.

There was even a powerful rendition of The King And I’s Puzzlement from Simon Daw.

Bingo Bowman brought laughter and excitement with his prize bingo, finely tuned after ‘30 years on the bingo circuit’.

The event culminated in two hours of glam rock crowd pleasers that had the hall rocking.

Local band Glam Rampage wowed the crowd with their 70s and 80s hits, easily filling the dance floor.

Bike Oxford

22nd June 2025

Bike Oxford – Several of The Balls to Parkinson’s Cycling Team rode the 50 mile Bike Oxford in preparation for the London to Brighton in September.

It was a fantastic sunny day, with ideal conditions for cycling. The circular route took us from the centre of Oxford, starting on the Iffley Road at the University of Oxford’s rugby ground, out to the edges of the picturesque Cotswolds at Charlbury.

Headington Village Hall Bash

22nd June

Celebrating the team’s morning participation in the Ride Oxford 50 miler, we held a fundraiser in Headington Quarry Village Hall in the afternoon.

A splendid time was had by all. Thanks to all our musical guests – from Farris and the Denodo Oddballs getting the party started, followed by the cool keyboards and vocals of Chris and Floss, and finishing with numerous rocking crowd pleasers from The Flaming Keys, our headliners.

Thank you so much to the Quarry Village Hall Committee, who were only too pleased to support the event, making the venue available to us.

We had great feedback from the attendees including a nice Facebook post from the Chair of the Oxford County Council, Mark Lygo.
